I looked back to where
The sky ended. Some
Days no rain would
Come. Some birds
Didn’t have a song.
Best of Everything
Value is measured in many
Different ways by many
Different people. Things
Have value and nonmaterial
Things have value like
Beliefs and feelings. The
Best of all these is love.
Best Ride Ever
Once I had an opportunity
To ride in a Black Hawk
Helicopter for about two
Hours. I was strapped in
A seat next to an open
Door. The view was really
Spectacular. We were
Looking for equipment
Lost in trees by the troops.
I could have done this all
Day!
The Magician
Our next door neighbor was a
Kindly elderly man who told
Us he was a retired magician.
He would gladly come over
When invited for dinner. And
He would amaze our youngest
Daughter with magic tricks.
One evening he told us this
May be the last time he
Would be able to make it
Over–he had an incurable
Disease and would soon
Perform the ultimate
Disappearing act.
Thanks
Everybody wants to be
Thanked when they do
Something good for
Someone else. Or if they
Have worked hard at
Something and finally
Achieved their goal.
Giving thanks is more
Important to the person
Than a monetary reward.
Heavenly Choir
All of a sudden a heavenly
Sound came out of the sky.
It was a choir singing
Beautiful songs that brought
Tears to everyone’s eyes. No
One could be seen in the sky,
But it was like the choir was
Encircling us. They sang
Until the sun went down.
The Place
I go down to where the
Land meets the ocean.
I let the rhythmic sound
Of the lapping waves
Lull me into a peaceful
Oneness. This place
Where the the ocean has
A lot to teach me.
Running on Water
They say only shamans or
Holy men can run on water.
It’s been recorded. Jesus
Walked on water. If you can
Achieve a high spiritual state
Of oneness that puts you on
A whole different level of
Achievement, running on
Water could be one.
Going to the Dentist
Nobody looks forward to going
To the dentist. They are afraid
The dentist will find cavities
And have to numb their gums
And drill their tooth and hear
That high pitched drill that
Makes you grip the armrest
For dear life. After it’s over
Your jaw is so numb you can
Hardly talk. And you leave
The office thinking never
Again.
