A king knocked at our door
One day and introduced
Himself as king so-and-so.
He said I’ve got a slight
problem–I’m lost. I don’t
Know where my kingdom
Is. We did not know how
To help him so we gave
Him a map and some food
And sent him on his way.

Sunflowers
Nothing is more cheerful
Than looking at sunflowers
Smiling at the sky.
The Cave
One afternoon I was walking
In the woods and noticed an
Opening in the side of a hill
Partially covered by vines.
It looked like a cave, and
Luckily I had a flashlight
With me. I started into the
Dark cavern. It was eerily
Quiet and damp. The farther
I went inside, I began to hear
Strange music. And to my
Amazement, I came upon a
Glowing purple rock–I had
Stumbled upon an Enchanted
Cavern.
Skeletons in the Closet
Most people have dirty little
Secrets that they hope no one
Ever finds out about. They can
Hear the rattling in the closet to
Remind them that they are still
There. That person constantly
Fears the skeletons will jump
Out of the closet and start
Talking.

One day I told my wife
We ought to go back to
the church we were
Married in. We did, and
It brought back a flood
Of sentimental memories,
The organ, her gown, the
Minister, the ceremony,
Down to the you may kiss
The bride ending. Love in
A beautiful setting.
Fresh Air
Got the blues? There is
Nothing more refreshing
Than to go outside and
Get some fresh air. You
Can walk, jog, use a skate
Board or walk the dog.
The great outside is
Where you go to get the
Stale air out of your
Lungs. Breathe deeply,
And enjoy!
Neighbor
One morning we looked out
Our window and saw moving
Vans unloading furniture and
Boxes into the house next
Door. Being nosy, I walked up
To one of the movers and
Asked if he knew who was
Moving into this house next
Door. He looked at me,
Paused, and said Sylvester
Stallone. I said you’re pulling
My leg, right? Why would he
Want to live in a little house
Like this? Then a Mercedes
Pulled up and Stallone, after
Quick introductions, said
We’re going to shoot a movie
In this house. Then my wife
Fainted.
Mothers
Everyone has a mother. They
Brought us up, with or without
A father. They took care of us,
Served as an example. They
Tried and they were not perfect.
They had their flaws, but don’t
We all? In their own personal
Way they expressed their love
For us. There is no one like a
Mother. Happy Mother’s Day!
Unexpected
I don’t know why it happens,
But out of the blue
Life slaps me in the face
With a wet tamale,
And it all comes back to me,
Even your look.
Rain
Listening to the rain
Is relaxing on a quiet
Evening. It’s rhythmic
Drumming on the
Roof almost lulls a
Person into a deep
Dreamlike state.
Turn off the TV, lie
Back on the couch,
Close your eyes and
Listen to the rain.
