Heaven and earth–
Is it so small a thing
To have enjoyed the sun,
To have lived joyfully in the spring,
To have loved, to have thought, to have done?
Month: June 2023
Hope
Paradise is behind that door,
In the next room–but I have
Lost the key. I hope I have
Only mislaid it.
Snow Cone
Someone just popped
Their head in the door
And asked me if I wanted
A rainbow snow cone.
Really now.
Cemetery
My love,
My love,
Even blindfolded
I would find my way
To you around this
Overgrown cemetery.
Hold Up
One night I was walking
Down a dark street. A
Masked man held me
Up at gunpoint. I
Turned my pockets
Inside out to show I
Didn’t have anything.
And he stole my pants.
Chamber Music
I stand still
I feel Monday’s soft face
Lightly caress my left shoulder
Most cherished part
Most important here and now.
Leaving
The way we talk about leaving,
Even as parts of us we uproot
Keep growing back underground.
Once rooted, always rooted.
Beholder
The way
The soft green room
(remembered)
Lights up
As we held each other,
Your beholder.
Far Out
It occurs to me it
Is the ability to be
Still, to be totally
Aware of any given
Moment, this is
Poetry–far out.
Flower
This young red rose,
It represents all of us
Here. Handle with care!
It is the prettiest flower
We have: Life needs
Love, love needs life.
