Angry Gerbils

September 10, 2023 by WordmanofAlcatraz

Watch out for angry
Gerbils. They will
Gnaw your leg off
If you let them. They
Hide behind furniture
And are hard to catch.
One person used his
Shotgun and shot up
His house with no luck.

Old Days

September 9, 2023September 9, 2023 by WordmanofAlcatraz

The days when there
Were no coal fired
Power plants, no
Acres of asphalt,
No superstores,
Those were the
Days to be now
In. Nature was
Lush and beautiful.

Canopy

September 8, 2023 by WordmanofAlcatraz

Go outside at night and look
Up. You will be dazzled
By the canopy of
Magnificent stars. The
Constellations wink
At you saying, “Hi, how
are you?”

Exploration

September 7, 2023 by WordmanofAlcatraz

People like to explore
Many things, places,
Ideas. Some become
World wide explorers.
But the most challenging
Territory to explore is
Your inner self.

Deer

September 6, 2023 by WordmanofAlcatraz

There was a deer standing
In our front yard. It did not
Move. It looked us and
Walked away.

Corridor

September 5, 2023 by WordmanofAlcatraz

I stood at the beginning
Of a long corridor and
Began to walk down
It passing busts of
Famous and ordinary
People. When I got
To the end of the
Aisle I found myself
Staring at a bust of
Myself.

Willow

In the Spring

this tree has

One Thousand myriad

softer than silk

in this wild unpeopled field

Mountain

September 3, 2023 by WordmanofAlcatraz

Look and see how tall
That mountain is ahead
Of you. Pretty imposing,
Isn’t it? You can climb
That mountain if you just
Put one foot in front of
The other.

Socks

September 2, 2023 by WordmanofAlcatraz

Why didn’t Einstein wear
Socks? Did it help him
Think?
If it took that to accomplish
His groundbreaking work,
So be it.

Sleep

September 1, 2023 by WordmanofAlcatraz

Sleep is the thing eagerly
Looked for by people at
The end of a exhausting
Day.
Turn out the lights, close
Your eyes, and wash the
Previous day out of your
Mind as you start counting
Sheep.
