Bob always had a large
Forehead. He was used to
It, since it was a family trait.
People would comment
About it, but usually not in
A derogatory way. He
Convinced people he was
Pretty smart.

Only One
Let’s just make up our
Minds that we are happy.
We laugh, bottle up that
Black poison, throw it in
The river and draw cups
Of pure water. We are a
Family, our only one.
Mom
Mom’s been around for
A long time. At 98 years
Young, she’s sharp as a
Tack, soft spoken. And
Mom is a little hard of
Hearing. Her love for
Her family and in-laws
Is real and returned
Back to Mom. It’s easy
To make her laugh.
And her gentle nature
Wins everyone over.
We want Mom to last
Forever.
Drive-In
Back in our younger
Days we all enjoyed
Going to the drive-in.
Several of us crammed
In a car eating popcorn
And enjoying soft
Drinks snuck in. The
Movies were weird
But we barely noticed
Because we enjoyed
Each other’s company
More.
More Than a Pet
When we went to the
Kennel he was barely more
Than a handful of wiggly
Fur with bright eyes.
Rottweilers start out small
And grow up to be a bundle
Of formidable muscular
Handsomeness that cause
People to steer clear of him
Because of his glaring look.
Ami, our Rottie, was brought up
In the right way in the kennel.
He had a wonderful personality,
Loyal, loved us, a superb
Protective instinct with the
Children. He was a family member
To us. We had him for nine
wonderful years.
The Boss Will See You Now
The old man lies in his
Bed, eyes closed,
Surrounded by family.
They watch him reach
Up and grasp at
Something they can not
See.
Last words they heard
Him speak was the
Name of his wife,
And then he was gone.
