In living we rush around and
Beat ourselves senseless
Making decisions in a hurry
As to what’s important to us
And what is not. Often we
Don’t slow down enough
To really see what matters.
All we actually have to do
Is enjoy the the little things
To bring life into focus.
We all came from water, the
Old teachings say.
Babies are birthed underwater.
People of any age learn to
Swim, without any coaching,
Dream of swimming to deep
Depths and meeting other
Life down below. This is
What people of the water
Dream about.
Cling to your dreams
For if dreams die, life
Is hopelessly blue
Cling to your dreams
For if you do not, life
Is like a barren field in
Winter
I live each day
With great rejoicing
The sun shines and
I bathe in its glory
My loved ones are
The sunshine of my
Life
I do not know why it happens,
But out of the blue
Life slaps me in the face
With a wet tamale,
And it all comes back to me
Even your look
Can you hear the planet
Rotating perilously through
Yet another hour?
Can you hear the universe
Expanding out in all
Directions, billions of years
Counting just as sure as the
Beating of your own heart
This is your own life
Do not waste it
Consider your life and
Everything you have done
On exhibit in your personal
Museum
What will you see?
Will you be proud of what is
On exhibit or a little embarrassed?
We all slip up. It is your life and it
Is unique. You have touched people
In ways you did not realize and
Others touched you in wonderful
Ways. That is what it is all about.
God has given us
One main task in
Life —
And that is to
Develop and grow
In the right direction
To find out who we really
Are
We live our life in
Many different ways
Mad, loving, lonely,
Sick, healthy, productive,
Frustrated. But we can turn
Coal into diamonds by living
Life as a poem anyway
Fellow passenger
Be easy on yourself
And me also
So we can live
Whatever time
Is left for us
Each day a gift
We do not take for
Granted
