The guardians stand at the
Wrought iron gate to make
Sure no unwanted people
Try to tear down this
Harmonious lifestyle that
Exists within this gated
Community. The guards are
Like soldiers defending their
Way of Life.
Bob Forehead
Bob always had a large
Forehead. He was used to
It, since it was a family trait.
People would comment
About it, but usually not in
A derogatory way. He
Convinced people he was
Pretty smart.
Monkey Ship
When we were kids we
Used to go to the zoo
And look at the animals.
One of our favorites
Was a boat in the center
Of a pool of water. It
Must have had fifteen
Monkeys on board,
Probably wishing they
Knew how to swim.
Sea Change
I feel something big coming on,
A scary, roiling sea change,
Blurring the feeling of the state
Of being, which did not exist
Yesterday, calm and true.
Fun
People gather. They
Eat, drink, play and
Laugh. They are
Happy among
Themselves. They
celebrate various
Occassions in love.
When?
Some people are like
Roses that were afraid
To bloom but should
Have bloomed. And it
Is as if the sun became
Disgusted with waiting.
Music
Why is it that children
Sing naturally, but
Adults require long
Periods of training to
Halfway carry a note?
Earth from Above
If you could sit on a cloud,
You could see the boundary
Lines between countries.
But the people would be
Too small to see–not so
With Jesus.
