It Doesn’t Matter

What matters and what
Doesn’t is a big item on
The mind of most people.
It’s something a lot of
People lay awake nights
Mulling over. Then it
Becomes clear for them,
And they can finally
Sleep by counting Sheep.

Peace

In a world full of tension
And fighting, people look
For the elusive bird of
Peace. Families and cities
And countries boil over
With turmoil until the
Majestic bird of peace,
A dove, lands among
Them and peace breaks
Out.

The Town

Sometimes I go on long
Walks around our small
Town. I walk through the
Business district and then
Just a short way into the
Residential areas and
Neighborhoods. Walks
Provide great exercise,
An intimate knowledge
Of every nook and cranny,
And getting to know what
Really makes up the town,
The people, my neighbors.

Museum Guard

Working at the museum on
The weekends was a break
From school and the usual
Routine. It consisted of
Standing in one place for
A while and then switching
Places with the guards on a
Schedule. It was fun to watch
The people as they walked
Through the museum during
The four hours I worked. They
Didn’t realize it but they were
On exhibit as much as the
Pieces in the museum.

More Than a Pet

When we went to the
Kennel he was barely more
Than a handful of wiggly
Fur with bright eyes.
Rottweilers start out small
And grow up to be a bundle
Of formidable muscular
Handsomeness that cause
People to steer clear of him
Because of his glaring look.
Ami, our Rottie, was brought up
In the right way in the kennel.
He had a wonderful personality,
Loyal, loved us, a superb
Protective instinct with the
Children. He was a family member
To us. We had him for nine
wonderful years.

Museum Tour

Consider your life and
Everything you have done
On exhibit in your personal
Museum
What will you see?
Will you be proud of what is
On exhibit or a little embarrassed?
We all slip up. It is your life and it
Is unique. You have touched people
In ways you did not realize and
Others touched you in wonderful
Ways. That is what it is all about.
