You have always been there
For me and I have always
Been there for you as it
Has always been. Over the
Years the closeness has
Been a joy and unending
Adventure.

Happiness
Happiness soars like
The wind blows the
Hair of people. Flags
Flap vigorously in
The town square
For all to look at
While holding on
To their hats. They
Are happy.
Rise to the Challenge
Hard times come to all of us
And we have different ways
Of dealing with them. Some
Of us just pretend the problem
Is not there but that just makes
It worse. Others of us are like
A knight on a white horse holding
Their lance up galloping toward
Their problem and defeating it
And winning the challenge.
Soul
A person enters a forest
To lose his mind and find
His inner self. After all,
We came from the forest
And our soul came from
The stars.
Little Cowboy
There was once a little boy
Who was given a pair of
Cowboy boots for his
Birthday. He was so proud
Of those boots he wore
Them until they were
Too small. The boots,
Holster, cap gun and
Cowboy hat made up
His favorite outfit.
Springtime
After a long winter
The season life loves
Arrives known as
Spring. Green sprouts
Pop up on bushes and
Trees, marigolds are
Everywhere. The
Natural world wakes
Up and all living
Things rejoice.
Charge!
Doesn’t that man
On the horse holding
The sword up in the
Air ever get tired of
Holding it up?
Weeping Willow
In the spring
This tree has
A thousand myriad
Branches, tender gold shoots
Softer than silk.
In this wild unpeopled field
Who does this willow belong to?
Winter
Spring is getting near,
But one of the cherished
Memories of winter is
When it would snow.
Looking out the window
And watching the white
Flakes drift slowly
To the ground was a
Calming, peaceful
Sight. Go out in the
Woods and experience
The utterly silent and
Holy worship in the
Cathedral of nature.
Trains
Late at night while lying
In bed I hear the plaintive
Sounds of train whistles
In the distance. They come
To railroad crossings and
Blow their horns or whistles,
Whatever you want to call
It. Lives have probably been
Saved by those loud jarring
Horns reminding people
Not to try to get across the
Tracks before the train gets
There.
