When we lived in the forest
Like creatures, you and I, all
We left behind were footsteps
In the wet grass. It felt like
being in the present,
Being alive.

Dogs and Cats
There was a dog and a
Cat that were two
Best friends. They did
Everything together
And even slept together.
One day the cat strayed
Off and the dog went
Wild with panic. The
Dog searched all over
The neighborhood.
Sad, the dog went back
To where they slept,
And there the cat was.
Happy Puppy
There is nothing like a puppy
To brighten up your day,
Especially a happy one. They
Jump up and down when they
See you and that wet tongue
Goes to town. To avoid getting
A bath with his tongue you
Distract him by throwing
Him his favorite toy. Dogs
Don’t know why they are
Happy, they just are.
Another Day
Days flow by like
The tides in the
Ocean.
What we do with
Our days are what
We are and is the
Legacy we leave.
Birds
On a windy spring day
Many things are blowing
Through the air, newspapers,
Small birds, dust, and feathers.
Birds grow feathers to replace
The ones they lost to continue
To make the sky their kingdom
Museum Guard
Working at the museum on
The weekends was a break
From school and the usual
Routine. It consisted of
Standing in one place for
A while and then switching
Places with the guards on a
Schedule. It was fun to watch
The people as they walked
Through the museum during
The four hours I worked. They
Didn’t realize it but they were
On exhibit as much as the
Pieces in the museum.
Planets
They rotate around the sun
In fixed orbits in a regular
Fixed sidereal schedual.
Humans have come up
With a lot of meanings
And interpretations
Derived from these
Mysterious planetary
Bodies. I know the
Planets have told me
You are meant for me.
Fishing
When my father took my
Two sisters and me fishing
At the local lake, we spent
A lot of time watching the
Bobber on the end of our
Bamboo poles. They rarely
Moved. Our dad tried to
Cheer us up by saying we
Were drowning worms.
That made my youngest
Sister cry. Those were the
Good old days we look
Back on and laugh.
Stars Everywhere
Look up in the sky at night and
Find billions of stars lighting
Up the universe. People on
Earth wish upon a star. Other
People believe their future is
In the stars. Stars are used by
Sailors to navigate the seas.
We have given names to all
The stars. We would be lost
Without the twinkling stars.
What is Trivial?
Every day people come into
Contact with all sorts of
Situations and decisions
As to what is meaningful
And well, what is trivial.
We want our lives to have
Meaning and purpose.
Living for a cause is the
Way to live a non trivial
Life. That makes the
Difference.
