We all came from water, the
Old teachings say.
Babies are birthed underwater.
People of any age learn to
Swim, without any coaching,
Dream of swimming to deep
Depths and meeting other
Life down below. This is
What people of the water
Dream about.

The Love of God
The world around me
Is full of examples of
God’s love
From sprouting seeds
To magnificent clouds
And sunny days to an
Innocent smile of a
Tiny baby and the love
That made it possible
God’s love is everywhere
Swimming
When I was in college I paid
Big money to take a beginning
Swimmng class and began with
The basics
During one class I was in at about
Chest high level and without
Realizing it drifted into the 6 foot
Depth and did not know how to
Tread water
Lucky for me, someone grabbed me
By the hair and pulled me to the
Shallow side
In later years I naturally and without
Any stress taught myself how to
Swim and it did not cost a thing.
Feather
We live in an amazing
World. The physical
World is ruled by laws
Of science. If you drop
A bowling ball and a
Feather at the same
Time the bowling
Ball will hit the
Ground sooner.
However, if you
Drop a bowling
Ball and a feather
At the same time
In a vacuum they
Will hit the ground
At the same time.
There is a lesson
There somewhere.
The Tree
The little boy stood in
Front of the huge tree
Which seemed to reach
Up to heaven. He stood
There for along time
Without saying anything.
A breeze began to blow
And the boy began to
Hear whispering voices.
It was the tree saying
Take care of me and I will
Take care of you in love.
I Did Not Do It
The moon looks down
With wide-eyed surprise
Don’t look at me
I didn’t do it.
Live With No Regrets
Flowers that are not planted
Do not need to be watered.
Words that are not said
Will not be remembered.
Actions that are not taken
Will not need to be regretted.
Relationships that are not explored
Will not dwell in the bitter memory.
Why Did It?
Why did it
Take all
Day
To get nothing
Done?
Why, I could
Have started
At noon
And saved a bunch
Of time!
Dreams
Cling to your dreams
For if dreams die, life
Is hopelessly blue
Cling to your dreams
For if you do not, life
Is like a barren field in
Winter
Whatever Happened
Whatever happened to those
Ernest seekers who paid
Big money to walk on hot
Coals and walk around barefooted
And meditate and primal scream
On cue?
They are home, most of them,
Watching Jeopardy with a cold
Beer these days
