We all love our air-conditioning.
When it stops working, we break
Out in a sweat. We call someone
To fix it. And we drink cold drinks,
Eat ice cream, whatever it takes
To get cool. God bless the
Repairman.

The Man in the Moon
One night the earth and moon
Were having a talk. The earth
Asked the moon why he looked
So surprised. The moon replied,
If you saw what I saw you would
Be surprised too!
Sea Change
I feel something big coming on,
A scary, roiling sea change,
Blurring the feeling of the state
Of being, which did not exist
Yesterday, calm and true.
Blood
Like pale puddles of water
Abandoned under the brush,
It might as well be a nest of
Snakes. Darn mosquitos
Everywhere, draining the
Blood from bodies.
Think
It is difficult to think
At the end of the day,
When the shapeless
Shadow covers the sun,
And nothing is left
Except the light on
Your skin.
Fun
People gather. They
Eat, drink, play and
Laugh. They are
Happy among
Themselves. They
celebrate various
Occassions in love.
Market
If you buy something valuable,
Like integrity, don’t sell it.
We’ll walk through the market,
Squeezing the melons, looking
For truth.
Prayer
I have prayed some
Of my most heart
Felt prayers while
Driving on mountain
Roads looking down
Two or three hundred
Feet off the almost
Non-existent shoulder.
Don’t Worry
The more we worry about
Time, the more we despair
Of having enough: the
Faster it comes at us, the
Faster it rushes away.
When?
Some people are like
Roses that were afraid
To bloom but should
Have bloomed. And it
Is as if the sun became
Disgusted with waiting.
