There was a deer standing
In our front yard. It did not
Move. It looked us and
Walked away.

Exploring
Exploring, it’s always a thrill to find an
Unlocked, deserted hospital building.
It’s eerie entering into rooms where
Patients have died–listening to the
Sounds of their last breath, making
My hair stand on end.
Tough
She’s 98 years old and
Still with it. Frail but with
A smile on her face. Like
So many people her age,
She fell and broke her
Hip. After an hour and a
Half surgery, she made it
Just fine. And Mom’s still
With us, a tough cookie.
Chamber Music
I stand still
I feel Monday’s soft face
Lightly caress my left shoulder
Most cherished part
Most important here and now.
Far Out
It occurs to me it
Is the ability to be
Still, to be totally
Aware of any given
Moment, this is
Poetry–far out.
The Peacock
Out of nowhere a beautiful
Peacock showed up in our
Quiet little neighborhood.
It struts around with its
Rainbow of feathers all
Spread out. It has this call
That sounds like someone’s
Being murdered. It won’t
Let anybody near–it might
Chase them anyway.
Winter
Spring is getting near,
But one of the cherished
Memories of winter is
When it would snow.
Looking out the window
And watching the white
Flakes drift slowly
To the ground was a
Calming, peaceful
Sight. Go out in the
Woods and experience
The utterly silent and
Holy worship in the
Cathedral of nature.
Serenity Pool
Deep in the woods away
From the noise of the
City is a haven of peace
Called Serenity Pool.
It has benches around
It so people can sit and
Reflect and make decisions.
Couples can be together
In peace. Looking into
The pool you can see
Into the future.
