A deep sea creature that
Shoots its self along by
Jets of water. When
Threat comes from
Enemies it squirts jets
Of ink for camouflage.
It captures its food with
Its tentacles. A king of
The deep.

George is a quiet fellow.

With him because of

We just sit and look

A little water every
Couple of weeks.
George would like
Some friends.
Ocean
There is nothing as vast and
Mysterious as the ocean.
Sailing across the open seas
Is a religious experience.
Sailors make a career out of
Being on the water as much
As they can.
Foundered
A homeless man liked to eat
Fried frog legs, because they
Tasted like chicken. And one
Day he ate so many that he
Became foundered on them,
Never wanting to eat frog
Legs again.
Yellow Submarine
One day the citizens of a
Small town were shocked
To find a bright yellow
Submarine lying on Main
Street. It just appeared
Overnight, full size, water
Dripping from it. Downtown
Shops were sure their
Businesses were going to
Take a nose dive.
Monkey Ship
When we were kids we
Used to go to the zoo
And look at the animals.
One of our favorites
Was a boat in the center
Of a pool of water. It
Must have had fifteen
Monkeys on board,
Probably wishing they
Knew how to swim.
Blood
Like pale puddles of water
Abandoned under the brush,
It might as well be a nest of
Snakes. Darn mosquitos
Everywhere, draining the
Blood from bodies.
Walk
I walk
Toward the sea, towards the words
Sinking low
Then lower.
Only One
Let’s just make up our
Minds that we are happy.
We laugh, bottle up that
Black poison, throw it in
The river and draw cups
Of pure water. We are a
Family, our only one.
Sailing
A sailboat offers a unique
Experience on the water.
The sails catch the wind.
There’s no noisy engine,
You just glide silently
Over the water steering
With the wind. The quiet
Experience encourages
Meditation and peace.
