She walks in splendor.
She is lovely in every
Way. Her sweetness
Knows no bounds. She
Is my lover, my wife.

Midnight Swim
One thing my wife and I
Used to do was go to a
Private lake at midnight
And go for a cool, relaxing
Swim. It was so peaceful
Under the moonlight. We
Don’t do it anymore, but
The memories remain of
The days of youth.
Soulful Eyes
My wife and I were driving
Down the highway one night
And picked up in the headlights
A figure of a little girl. My wife
Got out of the car and walked
Her to our car. She was
Shivering and said she was
Lost and that her name was
Hanna. She had the most
Strikingly soulful eyes.
Cemetery
My love,
My love,
Even blindfolded
I would find my way
To you around this
Overgrown cemetery.
Go Back
One day I told my wife
We ought to go back to
the church we were
Married in. We did, and
It brought back a flood
Of sentimental memories,
The organ, her gown, the
Minister, the ceremony,
Down to the you may kiss
The bride ending. Love in
A beautiful setting.
Neighbor
One morning we looked out
Our window and saw moving
Vans unloading furniture and
Boxes into the house next
Door. Being nosy, I walked up
To one of the movers and
Asked if he knew who was
Moving into this house next
Door. He looked at me,
Paused, and said Sylvester
Stallone. I said you’re pulling
My leg, right? Why would he
Want to live in a little house
Like this? Then a Mercedes
Pulled up and Stallone, after
Quick introductions, said
We’re going to shoot a movie
In this house. Then my wife
Fainted.
Mansion
The young couple had just
Gotten married and set
Out on that inevitable
Next step of finding a
Place to live. They both
Worked but didn’t make
That much money. They
Looked at houses in their
Price range and all were
Fairly humble dwellings.
But the new husband said
Whatever we buy and I
Carry you over the threshold
Over will be a mansion.
Time
It has been said that
Time moves slower the
Farther you travel toward
The edge of the universe
And bends back upon itself
Meaning all that has ever been
Will repeat endlessly
If there is a place where the
start and stop meet, a timeless
Condition, where husband and
Wife embrace in an endless kiss
The Boss Will See You Now
The old man lies in his
Bed, eyes closed,
Surrounded by family.
They watch him reach
Up and grasp at
Something they can not
See.
Last words they heard
Him speak was the
Name of his wife,
And then he was gone.
